FUTURE YOU COACHING IN MELBOURNE
How and Where it All Began
-
“I grew up in Melbourne as a multi-sport athlete — playing basketball for the Melbourne Tigers and
representing Victoria in football and cricket — but it was squash that truly grabbed me at 17.
From
there, the journey took me across 70+ countries as a professional, reaching a career-high world ranking of
No. 33 and winning multiple titles, including the Dutch National Championship. The lessons I learned as a
player shaped the coach I would later become.”
My Transition to Coaching : A shoulder injury in 2008 became the turning point. I moved from Holland to Philadelphia, and by 2013 had stepped away from the PSA Tour to dedicate myself fully to coaching. The shift felt natural — I realised that guiding others brought me the same joy as competing myself.
Building a Coaching Path Abroad :
I founded my first squash academy at The Baldwin School in Philadelphia, where I worked with juniors aged
12–18 to develop both their squash and their mindset. Many of those players went on to Harvard, Yale, and
Princeton.
Later in New York, I expanded into private coaching, working with professional athletes,
CEOs, Wall Street executives, lawyers, and even a U.S. Senator.
Future You Coaching : In 2021, I returned home to Melbourne and launched Future You Coaching. My model blends squash, neuroscience, and mindset training to help athletes and professionals align with their Future Self. Today, I coach not just for performance, but for the whole person — balancing technical development with mindset, confidence, and resilience.
Who I Coach Today: We work with a wide range of athletes, from Melbourne-based juniors and club players to international professionals like Olivia Fiechter (PSA Top 10). Our programs also support state and national representatives, as well as teams and schools including Scotch College, Rainbow Racquets Melbourne, and The Gliders, Australia’s women’s wheelchair basketball team.
“Coaching isn’t about trophies on the shelf — it’s about building confidence, resilience, and self-belief.
My goal is to help people thrive not only in the game, but in life.
Through Future You Coaching, I
blend mindset training, neuroscience, and proven life coaching techniques with on-court development. Every
session is designed to create positive shifts — replacing negative patterns, raising energy and awareness,
and building a stronger connection to your future self.”
What I Emphasise in Coaching
Love within yourself and healthier relationships
Recognising your potential and limitations
Building motivation and drive for life
Outlining a clear path forward for growth and success
A unique blend of neuroscience, ancient wisdoms, ontology, and the law of attraction
World Ranking Reached a career-high of No. 33 (2006)
National Title Crowned Dutch National Champion (2002)
PSA Tour Success Winner of 3 PSA Tour Titles, including Rotterdam (2007) and the NY Capital District Open (2008)
Team Representation Represented the Netherlands at World and European Team Championships, securing five European silver medals
Global Exposure From Cairo to New York, Kuala Lumpur to Rotterdam, squash gave me a passport to the world
Before stepping into coaching
, I was fortunate to live the life of a professional squash player. From a young age I was drawn to sport
— playing basketball for the Melbourne Tigers and representing Victoria in football and cricket — before
turning fully to squash at 17.
Competing on the PSA World Tour for over a decade then took me across
70+ countries — an experience that shaped not only my career, but my outlook on life.
A shoulder injury in 2008 marked the shift in my career. It was a moment of loss, but also of clarity — a
chance to take everything I had learned as a player and begin shaping others through coaching.
“Every
athlete has that moment where the body forces you to stop and reflect. For me, it was a shoulder injury that
made me question what was next. But it wasn’t an ending — it was a new beginning. Coaching gave me a way to
stay in the game, but more importantly, to give back what squash had given me.”
Starting Over in the U.S.
My first major step as a coach came in Philadelphia, where I founded a squash academy at The Baldwin
School. I worked with juniors aged 12–18, not only improving their game but helping them develop a mindset
that would carry them through life. Many of those students went on to Ivy League universities including
Harvard, Yale, and Princeton
Future You Coaching
In 2021, I returned to Melbourne and launched Future You Coaching — a program that blends squash,
neuroscience, and mindset development. My mission is simple: to help people align with their “future self,”
whether they are athletes, professionals, or individuals seeking growth.
Elite Athletes: Mentor to PSA professionals including Olivia Fiechter (World Top 10), who credits me with
having the “largest impact” on her career.
Teams & Schools: Coaching at Scotch College, and supporting inclusivity through programs with Rainbow
Racquets Squash Melbourne.
National & International Programs: Delivered the Fiji Squash development
program (2022) and currently serving as Mindset Coach to The Gliders, Australia’s women’s wheelchair
basketball team.
Coaching Beyond the Court
Later in New York, I expanded my work to private coaching — training professional athletes, executives,
lawyers, CEOs, and even a U.S. Senator. In every case, I saw the same truth: success was driven not just by
skill, but by mindset. That realisation laid the foundation for the philosophy I still use today.

Fitness & Strength Coach
At Future You Coaching, we believe no single coach can cover every part of a player’s journey. From technique and movement, to fitness and mindset, to programs for women and juniors, every session is part of a bigger picture. When players come to us, they don’t just get one coach — they get a complete support system working towards their growth.

At Future You Coaching, every player’s journey is different — but the pathway is simple. Whether you’re stepping onto a squash court for the first time, aiming for state selection, or competing internationally, we have a program to support you.
“Women’s squash has given me so much — from opportunities to travel the world to a platform
where I can now coach and inspire others. Yet I also know how easily the women’s game can be
overlooked. That’s why I am proud to support the Women’s Tournament. With every player, coach,
parent, and supporter who joins in, we send a clear message: women’s squash matters.
Together, we can create more pathways for girls to start, more opportunities
for women to play, and more recognition for those competing at the highest level. I invite
you to be part of this movement — because when we stand behind women’s squash, the entire
squash community rises with it.”

Thanks for always encouraging me and believing in me KK. From day 1 you said I could achieve something like this and I’m not sure I believed you but you said it with such confidence that you planted a little seed of hope and curiosity.
